• Foundations of alignment, posture, and balance in modern dance.
• Exploration of contrasting movement qualities (contraction vs. expansion, sharp vs. smooth).
• Developing core strength and its connection to modern techniques.
• Introduction to modern floor work: rolls, spirals, and transitions.

Sarah Sarrouf
Sarah Sarrouf is a Lebanese-American dancer and teacher with 19 years of experience in a diverse range of dance styles, including Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop, and Improvisation. She began her dance journey at the age of three and has received specialized technical instruction in Jazz techniques such as Fosse, as well as Modern dance schools including Howard, Graham, and Cunningham.
Sarah's teaching career began during her university years, where she studied contemporary movement and African Forms. She later mentored under a skilled instructor, teaching African dance forms and choreographing for her collegiate dance company, creating both original productions and choreography for multiple groups. Sarah is currently a member of the Sarab Dance Collective in Jordan, where she continues her dance training, expanding her expertise in contemporary dance and exploring Folk Dance and Dabke.
With a strong passion for blending her background in Education with her dance practice, Sarah is dedicated to making dance an accessible art form. She views dance as a powerful, healing tool that fosters community, joy, and belonging. Through her technical training and empowering teaching approach, Sarah strives to provide others with the opportunity to experience the transformative journey of dance.
